Last Light of Mabon

SCENT NOTES: chamomile + yarrow + lavender + foraged herbs + highland flora
—
Vintage romance, wrapped in herbal bliss-you stand atop the crest of a hill with a lover (or perhaps someone you’re falling in love with in this very moment) within the aged, mossy stones of an ancient henge, eyes closed and face to the sky, bathing in the sunset of the Autumnal Equinox. Highland flora surrounds you and their varied scents swirl around you, brought on a cool September breeze—crisp with the first hints of cold to come, herbal greens a bright splash amidst the soft fragrance of cottage florals. If you were aware of your surroundings you may spy a witch armed with a little device not unlike a lighter, seeking to capture the precious and magical final rays of the day’s light. Or perhaps you would spy a beautiful woman, hand to the stone, there one moment and gone the next. But, you aren’t looking for those things. No, your soul is enraptured in the moment: with the light and the air and the soul beside yours.
This was such an interesting fragrance to capture and I think “vintage romance” really nails it—which is partially why I think this makes for a fantastic “Outlander”-themed scent—as would the concept of “hand-washed antique lace set out to dry in a cottage garden”. I would actually not describe this as a particularly earthy scent! “Last Light” is a beautiful and abstract concept and I sought to capture more than just the act of standing amidst a henge, working only with green earthy herbals, and instead capture a certain softness and brightness with this scent as well—to really paint with fragrance an element of love and hope present in this moment. I also really wanted to pay a bit of an homage to the day itself, using ingredients like yarrow and rosemary which would traditionally be associated with Mabon! I think the result lands somewhere in the clean and delicate realm, like an herbal and lavender hug.

Hand poured with natural, vegan coconut soy wax and decorated with yellow rose petals, chamomile, and lavender buds.
The 12 ounce version is available with and without a lid. Lids are made of a beautiful dark, all-natural maple sourced and manufactured in the USA.
