SCENT NOTES: note paper + oat milk + almond milk + creamy coconut + sea salt + hints of honey & lemon
—
With a bright flash of an orange vest and accompanied by the lingering notes of sea salt, one of Lunathion’s many messenger otters pops up beside you bearing a small note adorned with a bow. Taking the otter’s parcel, you run your fingers over the lovely, soft textured paper and a light breeze wafts its delicate, creamy paper scent over you, along with its own hints of the city’s sea air. There’s a dinner invitation amongst the beautiful words within, all picked carefully by someone who couldn’t stop thinking about you today. As the messenger departs with your own handwritten reply your contented heart seems to glow.
“Otter Valentine” (aka. “Otter Post” for the longest time—I just love both the names) was a scent I could not help but include in this collection! I had the idea for the scent blend and then just could not get it out of my mind! Happily, the final result turned out just as soft and lovely as I had hoped. I’d really sought to capture the sweet warm feeling of receiving a love note—made even more adorable when delivered via otter—and I think this blend is really able to take me there. With that in mind there was also a lot of room here to nod to the otter messengers and try and, as I always do, try to make it feel like you really had been visited by a messenger otter. Thus, the inevitable marine notes that would surely accompany any such delivery! (The icing on the cake was the fact I was able to source these peach-orange vessels!) I think it’s an amazing fit for the morning because of its refreshing notes, but would work equally well any time you’re settling in for a read. There’s something in this fragrance that reminds me distinctly of a thrifted paperback book!
