Note: for my lovely customers looking to restock on a favorite I present to you: Black Lake in 12oz! These will be available in our sand colored 12oz jars (that’s double the fragrance to enjoy) with the same kelp-top as the original!

SCENT NOTES: misty caves + petrichor + wet bedrock + kelp + lake grass + dark waters + highland flora

Wisps of mist curl and dance around you as you explore the damp caves surrounding the Black Lake. Mosaics and forgotten frescos lead to hidden troves, just needing a bold witch or wizard to crack their ancient puzzles. A light cool breeze foretells of a seasonal transition not too far away and brings the herbal scents of the highlands to mingle with that of damp lake foliage, tidepools and earth. Should you submerge yourself into the dark waters themselves, you might find yourself cautiously traversing dense kelp forests while dodging grindylows. Dappled sunlight flickers over scaled tales lingering just out of sight in these murky depths and you descend ever deeper, surrendering to the siren calls of the unexplored waters and, of course, the tantalizing possibility of gazing upon the hidden kingdom of the lake’s merfolk.

Black Lake is a mysterious, dark marine fragrance and quite damp, bringing to mind first and foremost petrichor or damp earth and wet bedrock. If you wish to transport yourself to the very shores of the lake, bring a mermaid-esque vibe to your above-ground dwelling, or are a water sign (like me!) who craves misty caves, this is the fragrance to achieve it. It’s a good choice for lovers of more masculine smells, with a certain intriguing spicy quality that can be detected alongside earthy green highland herbals. There is something very soothing about it though, despite the edge to its fragrance notes, it’s almost as if it’s a spa scent that leans masculine rather than feminine.

Hand poured with natural, vegan coconut soy wax and decorated with thyme, dried kelp and a hint of sand foraged from Monterey, CA.
